public transport station
Images by Block by Block
This is a participatory design process for the first public transport station of the refugee settlement, and public spaces around it.
The new transport infrastructure aims to integrate refugees from seven African nations with the local population of the Turkana county. The methodology involves a five-day workshop with students using Minecraft computer game to imagine, co-create and visualise the public space around the station. A second stage involves the engagement of the same students in the construction of the intervention, and in training for the maintenance of the public spaces.
